Review Test Results

Now that you've successfully executed the CXTM test cases through the pipeline, return to CXTM to review the results of the test case you created earlier.

Step 1 - Return to CXTM

Return to the CXTM window in your browser or use the link below:

Step 2 - Return to your project's Test Cases page

Return to the sidebar.

  1. Scrolldown until you locate the heading Test Cases
  2. Under Test Cases, click Test Cases

Step 3 - Review the Verify BGP Neighbor Failure and Recovery Convergence test case

From your Test Cases page:

  1. Locate the test case Verify BGP Neighbor Failure and Recovery Convergence that has identifier 01.06
  2. For this test case's row, click on the Yes link under the Job File? column

  3. Under Run History, click on the LOGS link next to Passed

  4. Under Test Execution Log, click on 4. GET RESULTS AFTER FAILURE to expand that step
  5. Review the test message set for that step

  6. In this particular test case, a BGP peer between a fanout switch and an external router is shutdown. This BGP adjacency is advertising a default route into the fabric, and advertising a route for the BD subnet (10.1.107.1/24) out of the fabric. This event causes routes to be withdrawn and a reconvergence event to occur. The test cases uses Spirent to measure the convergence time of each traffic stream and evaluate it against a pass/fail criteria of 50 ms.

This test cases is illustrative of how CXTM, through the CAIT service offer, can be used to supplement Services as Code by adding additonal test and validation capabities to the pipeline.
